Usama Alshaibi

 Usama Alshaibi (born in Baghdad, Iraq on November 20, 1969) is an Iraqi-American independent filmmaker and visual artist.

Starting in early 2004, Alshaibi worked on a documentary on his homeland, and its current situation, titled Nice Bombs. The documentary is Alshaibi's first official release and was produced by Alshaibi's wife, fellow filmmaker Kristie Alshaibi, and executive produced by Studs Terkel.

He is best known for his feature film Ghost From The Machine, his award-winning short films, and his work on the documentary Sportsfan with Aaron Lubarsky and Jon Stewart. Ghost From the Machine was one of ten films in the nation to be accepted into the Independent Feature Project Filmmakers Narrative Lab in 2009. Sportsfan aired nationally on SpikeTV and played numerous festivals all over the country.
