Interference is an international exhibition organised by Stichting Idee-fixe in cooperation with the Spanish festival In-Sonora which was held last year in Madrid. Sound as well as light are waves that interfere with each other and all surrounding subjects. This reaction gives a unique and often unpredictable pattern of waves. Those patterns are the basis of this exhibition. Be surprised by the various installations that make use of sound and light, high tech 'cosmos ray collectors' and interactive computers or spherical moving paintings. A selection of European light- and soundartists present themselves in 17 installations.

Younnes Baba-Ali
Younnes will play on his selfmade giant cube which stands in the middle of the hall in Electron. By tapping on the several sides some kind of music is produced. This musical black box will be in the hall througout the whole exposition.

Twan Bastiaansen
Very short, hardly audible sounds around us are being recorded by little contact microphones. Those soundbites are being stretchedout into some loose fragments of sounds, that can hardly be registered. Those particles of sound are the basis of a slowly built soundscape, which resembles a soundtrack.

Phonology Experience
A concert of the Phonology Experience (with frontman Rob Hebing).
The bandname refers to the seventies, a period with phantastic music. Phonology is the science that examines the meaning of sounds. This enthousiastic formation of four young people, playing bass, organ, guitar and drums, make songs that are experiences on their own.

Der Wexel
Sound by Sculpture is an installation containing 10 little machines that take you on a trip through a world of mechanics. A machine, a wooden frame and a lot of wire, all together they can make the sounds of almost visible factory.
